Last Sunday, on March 2nd, 2025, the 97th edition of the Oscars, the most renowned award event in the world of cinema.

The nomination of Fernanda Torres for Best Actress and of Walter Salles' film "I'm Still Here" for Best International Feature Film made 2025 a historic year for Brazilian cinema.

The iconic win of Ainda Estou Aqui as Best International Feature Film sent the entire nation into a state of extreme emotion and joy, marking a moment of immense pride for Brazilian cinema and a milestone in our country’s cultural and historical landscape.

And Brazil isn’t making history only on-screen—our stars also brought their A-game to the red carpet! From Fernanda Torres' glamorous black gown to Bruna Marquezine's stunning white dress in a surprise appearance, I've gathered all the looks from Brazilians at the 2025 Oscars for you to check out.

1. Fernanda Torres

Of course, we have to start with our queen, our legend, Fernanda Torres! The Eunice Paiva star chose a breathtaking black Chanel gown for the Oscars. And she didn’t hold back: the custom-made piece took an astonishing 450 hours to create from scratch!

2. Selton Mello

Actor Selton Mello, who played Rubens Paiva, opted for a timeless black tuxedo.

To complete his look, Selton added a silver ring and a black flower brooch. In a red carpet interview, he revealed that the ring was a tribute to his late mother, while the brooch honored Rubens Paiva. Here’s what he had to say:

"This black flower, which I only wore once at the Venice Film Festival, I’m wearing again now as a tribute to Rubens Paiva. This flower is for him."

3. Walter Salles

Director Walter Salles also chose a classic black suit for the occasion.

Later in the evening, he made history as he accepted the Best International Feature award, a moment that filled all of us Brazilians with emotion, pride, and joy.

4. Cachorrinha Suri

Who says pet stars can’t dress up for the Oscars?! Suri, one of the dogs that played Pimpão in "I'm Still Here", didn’t miss out on the celebration and showed off her glamorous look on Instagram!

5. Bruna Marquezine

And finally, Bruna Marquezine! The actress made a surprise appearance on the red carpet in an elegant white gown designed exclusively for her by Donatella Versace.

Donatella didn’t hold back in praising the actress on social media:

"Bruna Marquezine, you are a vision in Versace! You own the red carpet in this Atelier Versace gown. Brazil has so much to be proud of tonight. With love, Donatella."

Unfortunately, other actors from "I'm Still Here" did not receive an invitation to the Oscars and were therefore unable to attend the ceremony’s red carpet.
